On 18 September 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, presided over the “Next Level Thai”, organised by Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Malaysia Office, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry of Thailand, through the Office of Industrial Economics, the National Food Institute (NFI), and the Thai Halal Industry Center at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara Hotel. The event was well attended by over 100 participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Industry of Thailand, led by Mrs. Siripen Kiatfuengfoo, Deputy Director-General, Office of Industrial Economics, and Thai entrepreneurs participating in the MIHAS (Malaysia International Halal Showcase) 2024 and importers and distributors in Malaysia.

 

The Ambassador welcomed the participants and informed of the event’s objectives, which are to strengthen the network of Thai and Malaysian entrepreneurs, to raise awareness of and to provide business opportunities for Thai halal food and beverage products in Malayia. She also reiterated the Royal Thai Government’s commitment in the development of Thailand’s halal industry for Thailand’s becoming the ASEAN Halal Hub by 2027.

 

On this occasion, Mr. Worawan Wanwil, Minister-Counsellor (Commercial)/ Director of DITP (Malaysia Office) announced the upcoming “Thailand Week 2024”, largest Thai product and service showcase in Malaysia, to take place during 16-19 October 2024 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC).
