Ambassador was invited to deliver an address at the “Thailand MICE Roadshow in Malaysia 2025

On 2 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, received a courtesy call from Mr. Puripan Bunnag, Deputy Director of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), and the Thai delegation at the Royal Thai Embassy. Mr. Puripan extended an invitation to the Ambassador to grace the “Thailand MICE Roadshow in Malaysia 2025”. Both sides exchanged views on the advancement of the MICE industries in Thailand and Malaysia, the policy of the Government of Malaysia to promote MICE industry, and expanding opportunities to foster Malaysian MICE travelers’ engagement in Thailand.
 
On September 3, 2025, the Ambassador was invited to deliver an address at the “Thailand MICE Roadshow in Malaysia 2025” held by TCEB under the campaign theme “Meet Well in Thailand”, at Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel. The Roadshow was attended by over 120 participants, including representatives from 26 Thai companies across the airline, convention centres, hotels, entertainment providers and travels agents, as well as 37 MICE agents and buyers from Malaysia. Mr. Worawan Wanwil, Director of the Thai Trade, and Mrs. Sirinthara Surakanitaya, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Kuala Lumpur Office also attended. The event was conducted in a warm and constructive atmosphere.
 
In her address, the Ambassador highlighted Thailand’s strong potential and readiness to welcome MICE visitors and tourists from Malaysia. The Ambassador also emphasized the vital role of the MICE industry in advancing Thailand’s “Proactive Economic Diplomacy”, while reiterating the significance of the event as a platform to advance Thailand - Malaysia MICE business partnerships and to bring greater dynamism to the cooperation and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
 
During the opening session, the Deputy Director of the TCEB underscored the importance of the Malaysian market, which has ranked as Thailand’s third largest source of MICE travelers for three consecutive years. He expressed gratitude to Malaysia for its trust and continued close partnership with Thailand. He also presented the “Meet Well in Thailand” campaign, which aims to deliver meaningful and memorable experiences for MICE travelers in Thailand.
 
In addition, the event included a presentation highlighting Thailand’s strengths and capacities as a MICE destination, along with business matching sessions and networking opportunities.
