On 30 April 2024, H.E. Lada Phumas, Ambassador, received VAdm Pichit Srirungrueang, 2nd Naval Area Commander and Royal Thai Navy delegation, at the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, on the occasion of VAdm Pichit’s visit to Malaysia during 30 April - 3 May 2024, to co-chair the 80th Malaysia - Thailand Combined Marine Working Group (CMWG) meeting in Penang, with Royal Malaysian Navy’s Naval Area 1 Western Commander.

 

H.E. Lada reiterated the importance of security cooperation framework as an essential Thailand-Malaysia relations-driven mechanism, including the meeting of the CMWG under the Regional Border Committee (RBC). As one of the annual events, CMWG has helped foster good understanding and networks among related agencies and personnels of Thailand and Malaysia.

 

The Ambassador and the 2nd Naval Area Commander cordially exchanged views and information on the development of Thailand - Malaysia bilateral relations. H.E. Lada stands ready to support various missions of the Royal Thai Navy. She also expressed appreciation for the Office of the Military Attaché’s close cooperation with the Royal Thai Embassy.
