On 9 January 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia welcomed a courtesy call by H.E. Ms. Maria Angela A. Ponce, Ambassador – Designate of the Republic of the Philippines to Malaysia, at the Embassy. Ambassador congratulated the Philippine Ambassador on her new appointment and expressed appreciation for attending the Reception on the Occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, and Thailand's Father's Day hosted by the Royal Thai Embassy on 4 December 2023.

 

The two Ambassadors exchanged views and information on bilateral relations between Philippines – Malaysia, and Thailand – Malaysia, as both sides aim to enhance cooperation with the host country through exchanging high – level visits and bilateral meetings, as well as cooperation in areas of security, military, trade and investment, tourism and people – to – people linkages. Regional and international issues of common interest were also discussed, including constructive cooperation between ASEAN member states in Malaysia.

 

The meeting was cordial, and helped strengthen good relations between the two embassies. Both sides are committed to forge closer cooperation with the host country, and be at one’s disposal to share thoughts and experiences, while working closely during their tenure in Malaysia.
