On 15 November 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia welcomed a courtesy call by H.E. Ms. Betty Oyella Bigombe, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to Malaysia, covering Thailand, at the Embassy.
 
The two Ambassadors exchanged views and information on strengthening bilateral relations between Thailand – Udanda, in trade and investment, and tourism, with a view to supporting and promoting Uganda as a travel destination in the region. As part of Thailand’s development cooperation initiative, Thailand stands ready to share best practices in tourism and service sector to Uganda through tourism management training program. Both sides also addressed the cases of Ugandan nationals lured by syndicates to work illegally, a transnational crime which requires effective regional cooperation. Ambassador of Uganda expressed appreciation for the cooperation by the Government of Thailand in assisting the safe return of Ugandan victims to the country through Thailand.
 
The meeting was cordial, and helped strengthen good relations between the two Ambassadors and embassies. Both sides are committed to forge closer cooperation with the host country, and be at one’s disposal to share thoughts and experiences, while working closely during their tenure in Malaysia.
