On 20 October 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia welcomed a courtesy call by H.E. Mrs. Pham Thi Thuy Nga, Ambassador of Viet Nam to Malaysia, on the occasion of her assumption of duty, at the Royal Thai Embassy.

Both sides exchanged information on Thailand - Viet Nam, Viet Nam - Malaysia, and Thailand - Malaysia bilateral relations. Thailand and Viet Nam are committed to forging constructive cooperation with the host country, particularly in the areas of trade and investment and energy security, as well as fostering engagement within the ASEAN and APEC frameworks and subregional cooperation frameworks, including the Ayeyawady - Chao Phraya - Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS). The two sides also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest, including transnational crime, developments in Myanmar, and the Thailand - Cambodia situation.

The meeting was cordial and helped strengthen good relations between the two Ambassadors and their respective Embassies. Both sides expressed their readiness to exchange experiences and work closely together during their tenures in Malaysia.
