On 19 - 20 January 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, welcomed H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and his delegation on their visit to Malaysia to attend the Asia International Security Summit & Expo 2025 (AISSE 2025), Cybercrime Prevention Summit 2025, and related meetings at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) in Putrajaya, at the invitation of Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, Minister of Home Affairs of Malaysia.
On 20 January 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister attended the opening ceremony, where YAB Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, in his opening speech following the welcoming address by Malaysia’s Minister of Home Affairs, emphasized the importance of cooperation in addressing modern threats, particularly cybercrime. Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Brunei’s Minister of Defense, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, Malaysia’s Inspector General of Police, and Police General Thatchai Pitaneelaput, Inspector General of the Royal Thai Police also attended the ceremony and visited the security technology and products exhibition. The Ambassador hosted a lunch reception in honor of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and delegation.
In the afternoon of the same day, the Deputy Prime Minister, accompanied by the Ambassador, Mr. Ansit Sampantarat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, and Mr. Chaiwat Junthirapong, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, had a meeting with Malaysia’s Minister of Home Affairs whereby various topics of interest were discussed. Notably, cooperation between the two Ministries, approaches to promote connectivity and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, and progress in key cooperation projects following the Thai Prime Minister's official visit to Malaysia during 15 – 16 December 2024. In the evening, the Ambassador bid farewell and sent off the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and the delegation at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.
