On 20 - 22 April 2025, Her Excellency Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, welcomed Mr. Chatchai Bangchuad, Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC), and the Thai delegation, on their visit to Malaysia to attend the ASEAN National Security Advisors’ Meeting (NSAM), organised by the NSC Malaysia during 21 - 23 April 2025 at the Perhentian Marriott Resort & Spa on Perhentian Island, Terengganu.
 
On 21 April 2025, the Ambassador and the Secretary-General held a bilateral meeting with Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Bin Zaizal Abidin, Director-General of NSC Malaysia. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening security cooperation at the bilateral level and under the ASEAN framework, with particular focus on border security, transnational crime, narcotics, as well as roles of Thailand and Malaysia in enhancing regional stability, while pushing forward the progress of the outcomes of the Working Visit to Thailand by the Prime Minister of Malaysia on 17 April 2025. The two sides also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.
 
In the evening, the Ambassador and the Secretary-General, along with the Thai delegation and national security advisors and representatives from ASEAN Member States and the ASEAN Secretariat, attended the Official Dinner of the NSAM, hosted by the Director-General of NSC Malaysia.
 
In the evening of 20 April 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy organised an informal meeting with the Thai delegation in preparing for discussions with the Malaysian side and during this inaugural NSAM - the meeting initiated by Malaysia for its ASEAN Chairmainship 2025.
