On 21–23 November 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur organized the 1st Legal Consultation Programme for Thai Nationals in Malaysia and the 1st Mobile Consular Services in Kuching, Sarawak for the Fiscal Year 2026. More than 40 Thai volunteers and Thai nationals in the area participated and received various consular services.
On 21 November 2025, Mr. Azman Taepoh, Counsellor/ Consul, led a delegation to meet with TPPK Zul Zairie, Assistant Commandant of the Semuja Immigration Detention Centre, to discuss information regarding Thai detainees and explore potential areas of cooperation between the Embassy and the Detention Centre. In the evening of the same day, the delegation also met with Thai volunteers, a former Deputy Director of the Sarawak Immigration Department, and officers from the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK Sarawak) to exchange information and strengthen cooperation in their collaborative efforts on consular matter.
On 22 November 2025, consular officers provided mobile consular services, including passport services, birth registration, and consular consultation. Meanwhile, Ms. Pinyada Reiniger, Counsellor/ Legal Officer of the Embassy, together with Ms. Yoges M. Verasuntharam, the project’s lawyer, conducted a legal training session for Thai volunteers and Thai nationals. The session covered family law, immigration law, and key laws in Sarawak, as well as legal clinic services and guidelines for assisting Thai nationals. Participants were also introduced to official information channels such as the Embassy’s and Consular Section’s Facebook pages. The delegation also visited Thai workers employed in the food sector (chefs/waiters).
