In the evening of 5 December 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur hosted a Reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, and Thailand’s Father’s Day 2025 at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, whereby Her Excellency Miss Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, presided over the Reception with the presence of YB Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, as the Guest of Honour representing the Government of Malaysia.

 

The Reception featured a special exhibition in honour of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, showcasing Her Majesty’s royal biography, royal initiatives, the State Visit to the then Federation of Malaya in 1962, and contributions to strengthening Thailand’s relations with the international community, among others. An elegant display of the eight styles of Thai Royal Traditional Dress was also presented, highlighting the cultural heritage inspired and preserved by Her Majesty, and providing opportunity for the guests to closely admire the exquisite craftsmanship of Thai attires. In addition, an interactive experience was offered to an AI-powered simulation, allowing guests to virtually try on the iconic Thai Royal Traditional Dress.

 

The Royal Thai Embassy also presented a Khon Performance or the Thai Masked Dance Drama, featuring the segment: Ramakien: “Phra Rama Yutthana Asurin” (Ramayana: The Battle of Rama and Ravana), and the Thai traditional dance titled “Thai Khon Identity: A Tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother,” performed by artists from the Suvarnabhumi Institute, Prince of Songkhla University (Hat Yai Campus); Thai food stalls by Thai SELECT-certified restaurants, traditional Thai massage, a photo booth showcasing Thai Khon identity, as well as a wide selection of Thai dishes, desserts and beverages for the guests’ immersive culinary experience.

The Reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, and Thailand’s Father’s Day 2025 concluded with great success, marked by its propriety, elegance, and befitting of the royal dignity. The event also brought joy and lasting impressions to all over 600 distinguished guests, who expressed their admiration and praised the powerful and internationally renowned “Thai Hospitality”.
