On 6 June 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, through its Consular Section, organized its 4th Mobile Consular Services for the fiscal year 2026 at DoubleTree Melaka, Melaka City, Melaka. More than 25 Thai volunteers and Thai nationals residing in Melaka City and nearby areas benefited from consular services, including passport services, national identity card services, document legalization, and consultations on civil registration matters.

 

On 5 June 2026, the Embassy delegation, led by Mr. Peerapat Tongrod, Counsellor, met with Thai volunteers in Melaka City and nearby areas to exchange information on the situation of Thai nationals in the area, listen to their challenges, obstacles, and recommendations in carrying out their volunteer duties, as well as to share knowledge and updates on relevant Malaysian laws. The meeting aimed to support the volunteers in providing advice and assistance to Thai nationals in the area, enabling them to live and work in Malaysia legally, safely, and securely.

 

On the same day, the delegation visited Thai inmates at Sungai Udang Prison in Melaka. The delegation inquired about their general living conditions, health, welfare, safety, and communication with their families, and provided advice on their rights and relevant legal matters. The delegation also met with representatives of the prison, led by PP Mahadi Bin Mustafa, Prison Superintendent, to seek continued support in ensuring the appropriate welfare of Thai inmates.

 

The Royal Thai Embassy attaches great importance to proactive consular diplomacy in caring for and protecting Thai nationals through the organization of Mobile Consular Services in various areas across Malaysia. In fiscal year 2026, the Embassy has organized four such programmes, namely in Kuching, Sarawak, on 22 November 2025; Kuantan, Pahang, on 29 March 2026; Ipoh, Perak, on 25 April 2026; and most recently in Melaka City, Melaka, on 6 June 2026.

 

The Embassy is currently preparing to organize its next Mobile Consular Services Programme in Johor Bahru, Johor, between July and August 2026. Thai nationals in the area may follow updates through the official Facebook pages of the Royal Thai Embassy, Kuala Lumpur and กงสุลไทย กัวลาลัมเปอร์.
