On 2 July 2024, the Embassy brought the event’s economic forum Thai speakers and the participating Thai SMEs to visit Thailand booths by DITP Malaysia and National Innovation Agency (NIA), Thailand at the Food and Drinks Malaysia by SIAL at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur to have a better understanding of Malaysia’s food and beverage market. This year, the Food and Drinks Malaysia by SIAL was held for the second time in Malaysia during 2-4 July 2024.
 
The event’s Thai participants acquired first-hand experience understanding the Malaysian market in the food and beverage sector. The Thai SMEs from southern Thailand provinces, especially, gained inspiration for ideas to further develop their future products in order to meet the Malaysian market’s demand.
 
This year, there were over 20 participating Thai food and beverage companies at the Food and Drinks Malaysia by SIAL. Some of the products, included, cooking sauces, processed fruits, tea, coffee and cacao drinks, coconut flower drinks, protein drinks, probiotic supplements, among others.
