NON-IMMIGRANT (ED) FOR EDUCATION

Purpose of visit:  To study or take an academic course in Thailand.

Required Documents:

  1. The original passport (must be valid within 6 months from the travel date)
  2. Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months

  3. A completed visa application form (download here)

  4. A copy of the passport biodata page and a copy of the Malaysian Pass (If any).

  5. Letter of acceptance/confirmation of the applicant’s place from the course/programme provider in Thailand (e.g. university, college, school, institution etc.)

  6. A copy of the course/programme provider’s registration and letter of approval from the relevant authority under the Ministry of Education (e.g. Office of the Basic Education Commission / Office of the Private Education Commission)

  7. Certificate of criminal record in the applicant’s country of origin. If the applicant resides in Thailand, the criminal record from the Royal Thai Police is acceptable.

For citizens of SPECIFIC COUNTRIES who reside in Malaysia
*Please check whether your passport is from one of the specified countries*

Must provide additional documents as follows:

- Three (3) completed visa application forms with (3) photographs (taken within the past 6 months). (mandatory)

– A copy of the permanent resident in Malaysia (PR card) or a copy of a valid Malaysian visa (at least 3 months validity with MULTIPLE entry). For E-Malaysian Pass, a photocopy must be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) before applying to the embassy. (mandatory)

The applicant’s original bank statement or bank book showing the account’s name and number, balance and history of transactions last 3 months.

**For Nigerian citizens, the original Clearance Certificate issued by Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) or the Letter of Good Conduct issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia must be attached.

For minors under 20 years old, please provide additional documents:

– A Copy of a birth certificate or adoption certificate.

– A copy of the parent's marriage certificate, in case of sole custody,  notarized copy of the court order must be provided.

– A copy of passports or ID of mother and father/ legal guardian.

– Original letter of notarized consent for the minor to travel abroad from mother and father/ legal guardian if the applicant is travelling alone.

*** The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to reject any visa application if the reasons given are not fully supported and the visa fee is non-refundable.

*** Additional documents may be required as deemed necessary by the Royal Thai Embassy.

***All supporting materials that are issued outside of Thailand and Malaysia must be accompanied by certified English translations and notarized by an Embassy or Ministry of Foreign Affairs only***
