NON-IMMIGRANT VISA (M) FOR MEDIA

Purpose of visit: To cover the news or to shoot films/ documentaries/ commercials in Thailand

Required document for media visiting to cover the news:

  1. The original passport (must be valid within 6 months from the travel date)
  2. Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months
  3. A completed visa application form (download here)
  4. A copy of the passport biodata page.
  5. A cover letter from the applicant’s organization.
  6. A copy of the organization’s registration in Thailand.
  7. Personal profile of the applicant.
  8. A Certificate of criminal record from the applicant’s country of origin.
  9. Approval letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand

Required document for shooting films/ documentaries/ commercials:

  1. The original passport (must be valid within 6 months from the travel date)
  2. Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months
  3. A completed visa application form (download here)
  4. A copy of the passport biodata page.
  5. Approval letter from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (if any)
  6. Cover letter from the production coordinator in Thailand.
***ATTENTION***
For citizens of SPECIFIC COUNTRIES who reside in Malaysia
*Please check whether your passport is from one of the specified countries*

Must provide additional documents as follows:

- Three (3) completed visa application forms with (3) photographs (taken within the past 6 months). (mandatory)

– A copy of the permanent resident in Malaysia (PR card) or a copy of a valid Malaysian visa (at least 3 months validity with MULTIPLE entry). For E-Malaysian Pass, a photocopy must be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) before applying to the embassy. (mandatory)

Proof of being employed in Malaysia e.g., the employment letter from the company, business license/registration. The letter must mention the applicant’s name, position and dates of visiting Thailand. ***Please note that the acceptance or job offer is not sufficient***

For self-employed, business license or business registration indicating the applicant’s name.

**For Nigerian citizens, the original Clearance Certificate issued by Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) or the Letter of Good Conduct issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia must be attached.

For minors under 20 years old, please provide additional documents:

– A Copy of a birth certificate or adoption certificate.

– A copy of the parent's marriage certificate, in case of sole custody,  notarized copy of the court order must be provided.

– A copy of passports or ID of mother and father/ legal guardian.

– Original letter of notarized consent for the minor to travel abroad from mother and father/ legal guardian if the applicant is travelling alone.

*** The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to reject any visa application if the reasons given are not fully supported and the visa fee is non-refundable.

*** Additional documents may be required as deemed necessary by the Royal Thai Embassy.

***All supporting materials that are issued outside of Thailand and Malaysia must be accompanied by certified English translations and notarized by an Embassy or Ministry of Foreign Affairs only***
