On 7 – 15 June 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, participated in the 2025 Meeting of the Thai Ambassadors and Consuls-General under the theme “Proactive and People-Centred Diplomacy: From Policy to Practice” held in Bangkok. The Meeting was well attended by over 100 participants from the Royal Thai Embassies and the Royal Thai Consulates-General around the world.
The Meeting took note of Thailand’s strategies and policy directions across key areas, including economy, finance, trade, investment, tourism, proactive economic diplomacy, and people diplomacy, among others, whereby the Ambassador actively engaged in constructive discussions on various agendas, particularly in the context of developments in Malaysia and Thailand - Malaysia relations.
H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand, also delivered a policy address on driving Thailand’s short-term and long-term proactive foreign affairs, leveraging foreign policy for the benefit in all dimensions, strengthening relations with neighbouring countries through bilateral and multilateral mechanisms, collaborating as the “Team Thailand”, as well as articulating Thailand’s positions on critical issues at all levels such as the U.S. tariff measures, situation in Myanmar, and Thailand - Cambodia border situation.
The 2025 Meeting of the Thai Ambassadors and Consuls-General was held in conjunction with the 150th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. On 13 June 2025 at 18.26 hrs. His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen graciously granted an audience to the Thai Ambassadors, Consuls-General, Chargé d’ Affaires ad interim, Acting Consul-Generals, along with senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, where they received the royal guidance in the fulfilment of their diplomatic duties.
