On 14 October 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia was invited to the launching of SEARCCT Centre of Research Excellence and Online Repository (SCORE), organised by Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT), under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia at Le Meridien Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The event, which was officiated by YB Datuk Mohamad Alamin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, was well-attended by over 100 participants, including Malaysian dignitaries such as Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin, Deputy Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Dato’ Ganeson Sivagurunathan, Director-General of SEARCCT, Dr. Mohd Faiz Abdullah, Chairman of the Institute of Strategic & International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia, high-level officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic missions in Malaysia, academics and media.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, in his officiating speech, emphasized SCORE initiative as an online platform to collect related data, including academic papers, journals, speeches etc. to enhance knowledge exchange, foster collaboration among agencies, support policy makers and practitioners, as well as increasing public awareness of critical issues related to counter-terrorism (CT) and prevention and countering violent extremism (PCVE). SCORE invites those interested in related fields to contribute information to further improve the platform with diverse perspectives and expertise, while also supporting Malaysia Action Plan on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (MyPCVE), under the Ministry of Home Affairs of Malaysia, the launch of which was officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim on 30 September 2024, in Putrajaya.
