On 16 October 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, was invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of the ASEAN Circular Economy Forum (ACEF) 2025 under the theme “Accelerate the Circular Economy Transition in ASEAN with Green Skills, Innovative Solutions, and Investments.” The event was co-organised by the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD), the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability of Malaysia, the European Union, the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, and other partners, from 16 to 17 October 2025 with more than 240 participants.

 

On this occasion, the Ambassador welcomed H.E. Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, who was invited to deliver the opening remarks alongside H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, H.E. Sujiro Seam, Ambassador of the European Union to ASEAN, and H.E. Mr. Jarno Syrjälä, Under-Secretary of State for International Trade of Finland.

 

The Ambassador also met with Ms. Phasporn Sangasubana, Executive Director of ACSDSD Bangkok, to reaffirm the Embassy’s readiness to support ACSDSD’s work and to further strengthen cooperation on sustainable development between Thailand and Malaysia, both bilaterally and within the ASEAN framework, in line with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
