On 9 April 2026, Her Excellency Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, was invited to attend the Special Keynote Address in the Malaysia Energy, Water & Climate Change Summit 2026, organised by the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The event was well-attended by more than 200 participants, including members of the diplomatic corps in Malaysia, invited guests and media.
The Ambassador met with the Deputy Prime Minister and the executives of KSI, and attended the Special Keynote Address whereby the Deputy Prime Minister emphasised the importance of delivering concrete results of the Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), especially strengthening energy security while accelerating the transition to clean and renewable energy, developing and improving the power grid, reforming energy tariff structures, encouraging greater corporate participation in energy investment projects, and ensuring the efficient management of water resources, among others.
Under the NETR, Malaysia aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and to increase the share of renewable energy in its power generation mix to 70% by 2050.
