Ambassador delivers Keynote Speech at the Opening Ceremony of AFMAM Malaysia 2026

On 14 February 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, was invited to deliver a Keynote Speech at the Opening Ceremony of the ASEAN Foundation Model ASEAN Meeting (AFMAM) Malaysia 2026, organized by the ASEAN Foundation under the theme “Promoting One Health Approach: Tackling Human, Animal, and Environmental Health Together”, at the Perdana Siswa Complex, Universiti Malaya Prof. Dr. Zamri Radzi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs) of Universiti Malaya delivered the welcoming remarks, with the presence of representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), faculty members and students of UM, as well as Malaysian youths selected to participate in AFMAM Malaysia 2026, totaling more than 150 participants.
 
On this occasion, the Ambassador, together with Mr. B. Wishnu Krisnamurti, Acting Education and Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Indonesia in Malaysia, and Ms. Emma Roberts, First Secretary of the High Commission of Australia in Malaysia, delivered keynote speeches in sequence. In her remarks, the Ambassador underscored the role of multilateral diplomacy within ASEAN in addressing transboundary challenges, including emerging infectious diseases, climate change, and transboundary haze pollution. She also highlighted Thailand’s active role in advancing public health and environmental security cooperation in ASEAN, and emphasized the importance of youth as a vital driving force in shaping the future of ASEAN cooperation and fostering a sustainable region.
