On 12 February 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia was invited to the Diplomatic Soirée, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) of Malaysia at Wyndham Grand Bangsar Kuala Lumpur. YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry bin Abd. Kadir, Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia chaired the Soirée, with participation of foreign ambassadors, high-level representatives from the Minitry of Higher Education, the Education Malaysia Global Service (EMGS), Malaysian universities, representatives from foreign embassies, civil and public servants in relation to education of more than 300 people.

 

The event was a networking night in a friendly ambiance between the MOHE and foreign embassies in Malaysia. The Minister spoke highly of Malaysia’s “Education Diplomacy”, its higher education reform through “Malaysia Higher Education Blueprint 2026-2035”, and building of a higher education ecosystem which is inclusive, values-driver, and future-ready, etc.

 

The Ambassador met with the Minister, congratulating him on the official launch of the Higher Education Blueprint on 20 January 2026, also highlighting close relationship between the Royal Thai Embassy and the EMGS to facilitate Thai students in Malaysia, as well as continuous collaboration with various Malaysian universities, including her upcoming keynote address at “ASEAN Foundation Model ASEAN Meeting (MY) 2026”, on 14 February 2026 at Universiti Malaya.
