On 23 July 2024 H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia engaged in a discussion with the executives of the National Defence University Malaysia (NDUM), led by Professor Dr. Hj. Azizi bin Hj. Miskon, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), and Thai Army Cadets from the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy Class 61, during the dinner hosted by the Ambassador at the Thai Residence, on the occasion of the Thai army cadets exchange visit to NDUM between 22 – 26 July 2024.
In the welcoming address, the Ambassador satisfactory noted the regular exchange of visits between the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy and NDUM which has promoted the cordial relations between the two military academies, as well as providing the opportunity for the two sides to share knowledge and experiences, thus maintaining and fostering the dynamism of military relations between Thailand and Malaysia. The Ambassador also lauded the close collaboration between NDUM and the Office of the Army Attaché, under the leadership of Colonel Nikom Tongkinkaew, Army Attaché.
On this occasion, Colonel Nikom Tongkinkaew, Army Attaché, Group Captain Warawoot Krasaetanont, Air Attaché, Police Colonel Somyot Srisorayut, Minister Counsellor (Police), Mr. Chatchawan Worrakajohnwirat, Minister Counsellor (Security), along with Team Thailand officials exchanged information on various aspects of Thailand – Malaysia relations, as well as political and economic developments in Malaysia.
The Thai army cadets actively and constructively engaged in the discussion which has helped enhance better understanding on Thailand - Malaysia relations and developments that will be of benefit to the nation and the people of Thailand, while expressing their appreciation towards the Royal Thai Embassy for the warm welcome and cordial hospitality.
