On 16 March 2026, Her Excellency Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, was invited to attend the Launching of the Mushaf Malaysia MADANI, organised by the Restu Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs of Malaysia, and the Department of Islamic Development of Malaysia (JAKIM), at the Nasyrul Quran in Putrajaya. YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, presided over the Ceremony, while YBhg. Datuk (Dr.) Abdul Latiff Mirasa, Executive Chairman of Restu Foundation, delivered a welcoming remark. The Ceremony was well-attended by Malaysia’s cabinet ministers and senior officials such as YAB Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister; YB Senator Dr. Zulkifli Bin Hasan, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (Religious Affairs); YB Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security; YB Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu, Deputy Minister of Works; as well as the diplomatic corps in Malaysia, invited guests and media, with a total of more than 500 participants.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of Quran as the guiding pillar of faith, governance and national development whereby the Malaysian Government collaborates with the Restu Foundation to implement the International Quran Waqf Programme with goals to translate the Quran in 30 languages, including Thai, and to print a million copies for global distribution.
Mushaf Malaysia MADANI is a hybrid Quran manuscripts, combining traditional Islamic calligraphy, local Malaysian artistic elements, and QR Code for users to access online translation and Quran recitation.
