On 13 March 2026, Her Excellency Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, received a courtesy call by Dr. Suttipong Angthong on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty as the Secretary-General of the Association of Natural Rubber Processing Countries (ANRPC) in Kuala Lumpur for the term 2026 - 2029 at the Royal Thai Embassy.
 
Both sides exchanges information and views on the work of ANRPC such as the preparation of statistical report and assessments of the global rubber situation, policies to promote rubber price stability, knowledge sharing and technical cooperation among 13 ANRPC Member Countries, while discussing ways to strengthen cooperation in Thailand - Malaysia rubber industry and the role of the Royal Thai Embassy in promoting trade and investment in the rubber industry, which is a strategic sector of importance to both Thailand and Malaysia. Thailand was 1 of the 5 founding members of ANRPC in 1970, together with Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam.
 
On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed her congratulations on the appointment of a Thai national to a senior position in an international organisation at the regional level, while reaffirming the readiness of the Royal Thai Embassy and the Team Thailand in Malaysia to actively continue collaboration with ANRPC, as well as relevant Thai and Malaysian agencies.
