On 18 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, hosted a dinner for the Senate Standing Committee on Local Administration, led by Mr. Apichart Ngamgamol, Chairperson of the Committee, and its 20 delegates in total, as well as the Senate Standing Committee on Administration of State Affairs, led by Mr. Wirat Limsuwat, Vice-Chairman of the Committee, and its 15 delegates in total, on the occasion of their study visits to Penang and Kuala Lumpur during 17 - 20 September 2025.
On this occasion, the Ambassador exchanged information on Malaysia’s key developments in areas relevant to the two Committees’ study visits and discussions with Malaysian agencies, namely smart city development, waste management, urban planning policy, and physical infrastructure development. The Ambassador also briefed the Committees on Malaysia’s overall political, economic, and legal developments, as well as the atmosphere of the Opening Ceremony of the 46th AIPA General Assembly held on 18 September 2025 at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur. In this regard, the Ambassador reaffirmed the readiness of the Royal Thai Embassy to support and further promote cooperation between the Thai and Malaysian Parliaments. The Committees expressed keen interest in further exchanges of knowledge and information on Thailand - Malaysia relations in a friendly manner. They also conveyed appreciation for the Embassy’s warm hospitality and affirmed their support for the work of the Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
