On 17 December 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, paid a courtesy call on Dato’ Sri Hj. Mohd Khalid Bin Hj. Ismail, Inspector-General of Police of Malaysia, to congratulate him on his new appointment. Also present were Police Lieutenant Colonel Masnu Jehsatam, Counsellor (Police Liaison), and Mr. Warut Plianphanich, Second Secretary, at the Royal Malaysia Police headquarters, Kuala Lumpur.
Both sides exchanged information and views on Thailand - Malaysia bilateral relations, security and border cooperation, bilateral cooperation mechanisms between the two national police forces, the situation in Thailand’s Southern Border Provinces, and the management of transnational crime, particularly online scams. Discussions also covered cooperation on the protection and welfare of Thai nationals in Malaysia, as well as the Thailand - Cambodia situation and Thailand’s related positions.
In this regard, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to work closely together and to support cooperation between the Royal Thai Police and relevant Malaysian security agencies through the Police Liaison Office under the Team Thailand in Kuala Lumpur, with a view to further strengthening and enhancing relations for the mutual benefit of the peoples of both countries.
The discussion was conducted in a cordial atmosphere, with both sides ready to support mutual cooperation to continuously strengthen Thailand-Malaysia collaboration.
