On 28 - 29 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, led a delegation from the Royal Thai Embassy to visit the operations of the PTTEP Malaysia Asset. The Ambassador was warmly welcomed by Mr. Padsakorn Suwanruji, PTTEP Malaysia Asset’s Country Manager, along with Company’s executives and staffs.

On 29 September 2025, the Ambassador visited the Company’s office at Menara Kirudong, Bintulu, to receive a briefing on business operations, especially the offshore exploration, development and production of natural gas in Bintulu, while exchanging views on promoting Thailand - Malaysia energy cooperation.

Following the briefing, the delegation conducted a site visit to the Bintulu Support Base, located at the Bintulu Port area, and a study visit to the Bintulu Offshore Receiving Facility (BORF), which processes natural gas from offshore platforms before delivering to nearby Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facilities. The visits enhanced the understanding of the end-to-end petroleum production process and the Company’s safety and operational standards.

On this occasion, the Ambassador also visited the Company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative “Hydro Sprout Greenhouse”, which supports local community’s hydroponic vegetable farming under the “Environmental (E), Social (S), and Governance (G)” or “ESG” model.
During the visit to Miri, the Ambassador was received by the Hon. Mr. Abun Sui Anyit, Senator of Sarawak. Both sides engaged in discussion over the luncheon, focusing on the role of Thai businesses in Sarawak, before visiting the Miri Oil Well No. 1 (Grand Old Lady) to receive a briefing on the history of this first oil well in Malaysia.

In addition, the Ambassador was also welcomed by YB Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew (A True Kenyalang - Sebastian Ting 陈超耀), Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts of Sarawak, who introduced Gunung Mulu National Park and Niah Cave - both of which are the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites.

The Royal Thai Embassy wishes to extend our appreciation to PTTEP Malaysia Asset for its support in facilitating this successful visit. The Embassy reaffirms its commitment to continuously supporting Thai business sector in Malaysia and to strengthening energy security for Thailand and Malaysia.
