On 11 March 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, joined the foreign ambassadors in Malaysia, along with Pol. Col. Somyot Srisorayut, Minister Counsellor (Police Attaché) in the invitation to participate in the PDRM Special Dialogue 2024, organized by the Royal Malaysia Police, at the Royal Malaysia Police College in Kuala Lumpur. YB Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, Minister of Home Affairs delivered an opening speech after the welcoming speech by Tan Sri Razarudin bin Husain, Inspector-General of Police, Malaysia. YB Tuan Ahmad Fahmi bin Mohamed Fadzil, Minister of Communications and Datuk Mohamad Yunus Sakmud, Deputy Minister of Higher Education were also present and witnessed the signing of the MoU Cooperation between the PDRM and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) respectively.
 
After the opening ceremony, the Ambassador had a keen interest to join the very useful panel discussions on “Cyber Crime - Technology on Crimes, the Challenges” and “Narcotics Crime - Danger of Substance Abuse and Discovery Evolution Through Research and Development” by the experts from the Royal Malaysia Police, National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) and representatives from relevant authorities and agencies, including the INTERPOL, Ministry of Health Malaysia and UKM, etc. Hon. DIG Dato’Sri Ayob Khan bin Mydin Pitchay, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Malaysia was present throughout the Panel Sessions.
 
PDRM Special Dialogue 2024 was held for the first time this year in conjunction with the 217th Police Day, serving as a platform for strategic discussions among key stakeholders and security experts, with a specific focus on cybercrime and narcotics. The Ambassador once again took this opportunity to congratulate the Royal Malaysia Police for the successful hosting of the event while engaging with Dato Haji Mohd Khalid bin Haji Ismail, Commissioner of Police (Special Branch).
