Ambassador welcomed Commander of the 4th Army Area and delegation

On 9 March 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia welcomed Lieutenant General Santi Sakuntanark, Commander of the 4th Army Area, and Joint Chairman of Thailand – Malaysia Regional Border Committee (RBC), and his delegation, at the Thai Residence, on their visit to Malaysia to attend the 114th Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting, co-chaired by Dato' Pahlawan HJ Muhammad Huzaimi Sabri, Western Field Commander of the Malaysian Army, in Johor, to promote security and peace in the areas along the Thai-Malaysian border and create opportunities for further economic and social development in the areas. To further strengthen relations between the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the Malaysian Armed Forces, the Commander, in Kuala Lumpur, called on General Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohammad bin Ab Rahman, Malaysian Chief of Defence Forces, and General Tan Sri Dato’ Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan, Malaysian Chief of Army.
 
H.E. Ambassador together with Team Thailand, Colonel Nikom Tongkinkaew, Defence and Army Attaché, Group Captain Warawoot Krasaetanont, Air Attaché, Mr. Chatchawan Worrakajohnwirat, Minister Counsellor, and Lieutenant Colonel Thiti Limkhajorndet, Assistant Army Attaché, welcomed and exchanged views with the Commander during the working lunch at the Ambassador’s residence. Various topics were discussed, including the development of Thailand - Malaysia relations, the follow-ups of the 114th RBC meeting, cooperation between Thai - Malaysia armed forces and security agencies, as well as facilitation of people-to-people connectivity and tourism in the Southern Border Provinces (SBPs).
 
The Commander expressed his appreciation towards H.E. Ambassador, while H.E. Ambassador expressed Team Thailand’s readiness to continuously support the missions of the armed forces.
