On 19 October 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia presided over the Thai SELECT award ceremony, organised in conjunction with the Thailand Week 2024 during 16-19 October 2024, which was hosted by the Office of Commercial Affairs/ Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP Malaysia), Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, the Embassy, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in partnership with the National Innovation Agency (NIA) of Thailand and Invest Selangor Berhad at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

 

The Ambassador congratulated the 17 newly awarded Thai SELECT restaurants, recognized by the DITP, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, which are located in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Penang. The newly awarded Thai SELECT restaurants include 1. Napa Authentic Thai Cuisine Restaurant 2. Pennapra Private Dining 3. Thai Chala 4. Rama V 5. Coca Restaurant 6. M Dining 7. Laosthai 5 to 9, Segamut 8. All Thai 9. Baan 26 10. Laem Charoen Thai Seafood at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur 11. Niyom 26 12. The Siam Thai Cuisine 13. The Thai Café and Restaurant 14. Blue Chang Modern Thai Cuisine 15. Yim Yam 16. Caffeine Cartel and 17. PJ Khao Man Gai. She also thanked the Thai SELECT restaurants for joining hands with the Royal Thai Government in promoting authentic Thai taste, quality Thai products, and excellent Thai hospitality in Malaysia. In addition, she encouraged Thai SELECT restaurants to keep high standard of Thai food, which would help to promote Thainess in Malaysia.

On this occasion, the Ambassador visited Thai entrepreneurs’ booths at the Thailand Week 2024, supported by the National Innovation Agency (NIA) of Thailand. She was welcomed by the NIA team, led by Dr. Amphol Aphathanakorn, Senior Social Innovation Manager, Social Innovation Department, NIA.
