On 27 April 2023, Miss Lada Phumas, Ambassador, received a courtesy call by Malaysia-Thailand Joint Authority (MTJA) led by Mr. Supat Napanoparatkaew, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO), at the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur on the occasion of H.E. Lada’s assumption of duty as the Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia. On this occasion, H.E. Lada commended that the establishment of MTJA is considered one of Thailand-Malaysia bilateral relations’ champions to resolve the area of overlapping continental shelf in the Gulf of Thailand for mutual benefits of the two countries. H.E. Lada also expressed her readiness to continue the Embassy’s support for the MTJA’s operation and its staff. Mr. Supat briefed on the MTJA’s operation and commitment to enhance its capacity in the Joint Development Area (JDA) with a view to meeting the demands of Thailand, as well as to achieving the Government of Thailand’s commitment to the Net Zero target by 2050.
