On 10 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, received a courtesy call from Associate Professor Dr. Veeris Ammarapala, Governor of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), and his delegation during their visit to Malaysia to attend the 45th ASEAN Railways CEOs' Conference 2025 on 8 - 12 September 2025 in Kuala Lumpur.

 

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the developments in cooperation on railway connectivity between Thailand and Malaysia, as well as the development of railway infrastructure in both countries. Other addressed issues were the challenges and approaches to advance and facilitate seamless cross-border rail transport between the two countries, in order to promote trade, economic prosperity, and contribute to enhancing the overall well-being and livelihoods of the people in Thailand’s southern border provinces and Malaysia.

 

The discussion was conducted in a cordial and enthusiastic atmosphere, and both sides affirmed their readiness to continue working together.
