On 12 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia welcomed a courtesy call by H.E. Mrs. Daniella Ortega de Paiva Menezes, Ambassador of Brazil to Malaysia, on the occasion of her assumption of duty, at the Royal Thai Embassy.

 

Both sides exchanged views on Thailand - Brazil bilateral relations, including high-level exchanges and cooperation under the ASEAN framework, in which Brazil is an ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner. The Thai Ambassador reaffirmed Thailand’s continued proactive economic diplomacy in engaging with BRICS countries as a Partner Country. In addition, both Ambassadors also exchanged information on Brazil - Malaysia and Thailand - Malaysia relations, in which both Brazil and Thailand are committed to forge constructive cooperation with the host country, as well as supporting Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, with the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings to be convened in October this year.

 

The meeting was cordial and helped strengthen good relations between the two Ambassadors and embassies. Both sides are committed to forge closer cooperation with the host country, and be at one’s disposal to share thoughts and experiences, while working closely during their tenure in Malaysia.
