Ambassador Visited Thai Exhibitors’ Booths at the Mini Thailand Week 2025 in Sabah

On 27 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, was invited to attend the Mini Thailand Week (MTW) 2025, organised by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) - Kuala Lumpur Office during 26 - 28 September 2025 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, whereby Datuk Richard Lim, Immediate Past President of the Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI); Datuk Dr. Hajah Rosmawati Haji Lasuki, Chief Executive Officer of the SICC; Mr. Dexter Deh, General Manager of the Daily Express; and Mr. Chaiyut Boonkong, Deputy Director of the DITP - Kuala Lumpur Office, warmly welcomed the Ambassador on her arrival.
 
Ambassador Lada visited exhibition booths and engaged with 85 Thai exporters and Malaysian importers of Thai products who showcased their goods across 102 booths, covering foods and beverages, lifestyle items, wellness products and innovation. The event also featured business matching sessions, expert-led business talks, cultural performances, and the demonstrations of Thai culinary and massage, among others. On this occasion, the Ambassador commended the strong potential of Thai entrepreneurs and reaffirmed the Royal Thai Embassy’s commitment to supporting the expansion of Thai exports to Malaysia, including to Sabah which serves as a potential and strategic gateway to the Brunei - Indonesia - Malaysia - Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) market.
 
On the same occasion, the Ambassador also hosted the luncheon for Ms. Natalie Fung, President of the FSI, and her team, to discuss opportunities for enhancing trade and investment cooperation between Thailand and Sabah while expressing appreciation to the FSI for their support in making the MTW2025 a resounding success.
 
The Mini Thailand Week 2025 marked its second edition, following its inaugural launch in 2023, serving as a platform to highlight the potential of Thai businesses in East Malaysia. The Event was held in parallel with an inaugural Sabah Investment and Trade Expo (SITE) 2025 and attracted more than 50,000 visitors over the course of three days.
