On 7 January 2025, H.E. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, welcomed Pol.Lt.Gen. This was to follow up on the Thai Prime Minister's official visit to Malaysia on 15 - 16 December 2024, and to continue the close dynamic relationship between the Special Branch Police of the two countries.

The Ambassador and the Commander of Special Branch Bureau cordially exchanged views and information regarding approaches to strengthen relations between the Thai and Malaysian Special Branch Police through existing bilateral mechanisms and border security cooperation, developments of the situation in Thailand's southern border provinces, and the Special Branch Police's missions in cooperation with the Malaysian Special Branch Police.

On this occasion, the Ambassador hosted a dinner for the Commander of Special Branch Bureau’s delegation and Special Branch Police officers performing official duties in Malaysia, particularly in Kedah, Perlis, Alor Setar, and Kelantan, as well as exchanged information on the recent developments in Malaysia's border management such as the official launch of the Malaysia Checkpoints and Border Agency (MCBA) from 1 January onwards. The Royal Thai Embassy and the Special Branch Police Bureau will continue to actively work together with relevant Malaysian security agencies for the benefit of both Thai and Malaysian citizens.
