On 2 December 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia welcomed a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. Abdoul Aziz Loum, Ambassador-designate of Senegal to Malaysia, on the occasion of his assumption of duty, at the Royal Thai Embassy.

 

Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations between Thailand and Senegal, including exchanges of visits, the promotion of trade and investment, development cooperation, and people-to-people connectivity. They also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest, such as efforts to combat online scams. The Ambassador underscored Thailand’s priorities under the Thailand - Africa Initiative (TAI), the Thailand - Africa Development Forum (TADF), as well as Thailand’s engagement with the African Union (AU) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

 

The meeting was cordial and helped strengthen good relations between the two Ambassadors and Embassies. Thailand and Senegal are committed to forging constructive cooperation with the host country, and sharing experiences, while working closely during their tenure in Malaysia.
