On 23 September 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, hosted a dinner in honor of Dr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society, and his delegation. The delegation included Dr. Apichart Chinwanno, Assistant Secretary General for International Affairs, Lieutenant General Dr. Amnat Barlee, Director of the Relief and Community Health Bureau, Mr. Anont Cherngchawano, Director of International Affairs Office, and Thai Red Cross Youth Volunteers. The dinner took place at the Thai Residence during the delegation’s visit to Malaysia to participate in the 22nd Southeast Asia Red Cross Red Crescent Leaders Meeting and related events from 21 - 25 September 2025 in Kuala Lumpur.

 

On this occasion, both sides exchanged views on Malaysia’s key developments, cooperation between the Royal Thai Embassy, the Thai Red Cross Society, and the Malaysian Red Crescent, as well as past activities of the Embassy, particularly the Thai Students Project in Malaysia and the monitoring of Malaysian legal developments affecting Thai nationals and consular matters. The Thai Red Cross Society delegation also expressed appreciation for the Embassy’s warm hospitality.

 

In addition, on 22 September 2025, during the 1st Southeast Asia Red Cross Red Crescent Humanitarian Forum, a key platform where institutions, governments, and humanitarian leaders from ASEAN transform regional challenges into cooperation to strengthen disaster law and international humanitarian law, Dr. Vilawan Mangklatanakul, former Ambassador of Thailand to Vienna, former Director-General of the Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and member of the International Law Commission (ILC), was invited as a panelist in the Plenary Session titled “Strengthening Humanitarian Action in Southeast Asia – Advancing Disaster Law and Regional Cooperation.”

 

On 24 September 2025, Ambassador Lada was invited to attend the Closing Dinner of the 22nd Southeast Asia Red Cross Red Crescent Leaders Meeting and the Launch of the Malaysian Red Crescent 75th Anniversary Coffee Table Book, graced by Her Highness Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Tunku Temenggong Kedah, National Chairperson of the Malaysian Red Crescent, together with Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah binti Wan Ismail, spouse of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, as Guests of Honour.
