On 17 February 2023, Mrs. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Chargé d'affaires, paid a courtesy call on Datuk Seri Hj Mahadi bin Che Ngah, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, to strengthen relations between the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and
pave the way for closer cooperation between the capitals of the two countries in the future. As a neighbor with a similar environment, climate, and problematic conditions of the capital city.

Both sides also exchanged views fruitfully on achieving the goals of becoming smart cities, commitment to carbon neutrality, and providing public services that are fast and responsive to the needs of the people in the digital age.
