Malaysian Prime Minister presented Appreciation Certificate for International Craft Demonstration to Thailand at the opening ceremony of the National Craft Day 2024

On 24 February 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia was invited to join the Awards Ceremony in recognition of the support from participating international partners at Malaysia’s National Craft Day 2024 at Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex, Kuala Lumpur, whereby YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Malaysian Prime Minister presided over the event and YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing and YB Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, Malaysia’s Minister and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture and YBhg. Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman, Secretary-General of Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) were also present.
 
On this occasion, Ambassador Lada received the Appreciation Certificate from Malaysian Prime Minister for Thailand’s support in having Thai handicraft demonstrators participating at the event. She also led YBhg. Dato’ Bala Chandran Tharman, Deputy Secretary-General (Multilateral Affairs) of Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to visit Thailand booth, whereby Ms. Jitnapa Ponata from Tuh Praewa Thai Silk, Kalasin Province and Ms. Suputra Bunon from Chanhom Thai Silk, Ubon Ratchathani Province were present to demonstrate Thai silk handicrafts at Thailand booth.
 
The National Craft Day is organised annually by Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation (MHDC) under MOTAC. This year was the 21st time and the first year, in which international demonstrators were invited. The event will take place during 21st February - 4th March 2024 at Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex, Kuala Lumpur. Interested visitors and friends are welcomed to visit Thailand booth during 10.00 - 22.00 hrs.
