Royal Thai Embassy hosted ALC Afternoon Tea Gathering 2025

On 14 February 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, President of the ASEAN Ladies' Circle (ALC) in Kuala Lumpur (KL) for the term 2024 - 2025, hosted ALC Afternoon Tea Gathering 2025 at the Ambassador’s Residence. This cordial gathering was attended by Madam Kiki Hermono, Spouse of the Ambassador of Indonesia and Patron of ALC Indonesia; Madam Moukda Sengmany, Spouse of the Ambassador of Laos and Patron of ALC Laos; Madam Do Thi Huong Lan, Spouse of the Ambassador of Vietnam and Patron of ALC Vietnam; along with ALC Malaysia, led by Datin Paduka Azizan Siti Hajjar Adnin, Deputy Secretary General (Management Services) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. Also in attendance were Alternate Patrons from ALC Brunei, ALC Cambodia, ALC Myanmar, ALC Philippines, ALC Thailand, ALC Singapore, as well as Country Representatives and ALC Executive Committee members from ASEAN member countries, making the event a warm and friendly gathering.
 
The Ambassador highlighted the objectives of the event: (1) to express gratitude to all Patrons, Alternate Patrons, and Country Representatives of the ALC for their invaluable support of ALC activities throughout 2024, which had greatly contributed to the ALC’s success. Today’s gathering was to celebrate those shared achievements together (2) to congratulate ALC members who will be assuming new positions outside Malaysia and to warmly welcome new members to the ALC family (3) to summarize ALC’s key activities in 2024, which successfully promoted awareness of both ALC and ASEAN. These activities included the ALC Thailand Project: The Taste of Thai, ALC Bazaar at the 57th ASEAN Day Celebration, ALC Singapore Project: Recharge and Reconnect, and ALC Fashion Gala: Threading ASEAN Unity through Kebaya & Sarong. ALC members also took this opportunity to discuss plans for upcoming activities in 2025.
 
Datin Paduka expressed her gratitude to the Ambassador for hosting the event and congratulated ALC on the successful implementation of its projects in 2024. She expressed hope that ALC’s future activities and projects would continue to achieve even greater success. Additionally, she bid farewell to outgoing members and welcomed new members, emphasizing the significance of 2025 Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship. She also encouraged continued collaboration and activities to further strengthen the bonds in the ALC Community.
 
The Royal Thai Embassy wishes to invite interested friends to follow the mission of the ALC and learn more about the ASEAN Community in Kuala Lumpur through various activities both in 2024 and 2025.
