Royal Thai Embassy organized volunteer activity in first aid and basic life rescue training

On 19 January 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur organized a volunteer activity by providing first aid training and basic life rescue training at the Ratchaphruek-Bunga Raya room, the Royal Thai Embassy. The activity was well attended by over 50 participants comprising officials and staff from the Embassy, Team Thailand, and volunteers from Thai community, including Thai Club, and Volunteer Club in Kuala Lumpur.
 
The activity is an initiative of H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, to raise awareness among the Thai community on the importance of basic first aid knowledge and timely assistance in response to accidents and emergency in order to safe life, prevent degradation of symptoms, thus contributing to treatment process and help fastening recovery. The knowledge gained from the training could be applied in daily lives, whether in the workplace or home, and can be disseminated to a wider community of the Thais residing in Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia.
 
Through the long-standing relationship between the Royal Thai Embassy and the Malaysia Red Crescent Society (MRCS), the activity was supported by MRCS, as it assigned professional instructors for the training, including Mr. Mior Mohd. Shahriman, Training Manager, Mrs. Noor Aida Shahirah binti Noor Azhar, Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Manager, Mrs. Lim Mei Chin, First Aid Instructor and Ms. Noorulhudabonti Ismail, Psychological First Aid Instructor. The training included guidelines to prevent accidents in the workplace, preparation for aiding accident victims by assessing symptoms, applying First aid techniques, practicing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – CPR), and observing mental state of victims to prevent physical harm that can be life-threatening, as well as learning about necessary list of items in First Aid Kit.
 
Throughout the training session, the participants gained useful knowledge and had opportunity to participate in CPR practice. The Thai volunteers expressed appreciation to the Embassy for the initiative which are very practical in their daily life, and also expressed intention to share the knowledge in First Aid to the Thai community in Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia.
