On 12 March 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, Patron ALC Thailand, led ASEAN Ladies’ Circle (ALC) Team Thailand to participate in the 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ALC at Banquet Hall, Royal Selangor Golf Club, Kuala Lumpur, chaired by H.E. Ms. Maria Angela A. Ponce, Ambassador of the Philippines and ALC President 2025 - 2026. Patrons and Alternate Patrons from ASEAN Member Countries of approximately 70 persons also joined the meeting, including YBHG. Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin, Deputy Secretary General (Management Services) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.

 

The meeting approved the report of the 43th AGM, held on 27 March 2025 at the Royal Thai Embassy under Thailand ALC Presidency 2024 - 2025, commended the work of the ALC Executive Committee 2025 - 2026, in particular the sub-committee to review and advise on the amendment of the ALC Rules and Constitution, which was initiated also during ALC Presidency of Thailand. The meeting then endorsed the draft amendment of the ALC Rules and Constitution, with active work and negotiation of ALC Thailand to govern the future work of ALC. The meeting also noted with appreciation the financial report 2025 - 2026, prepared by Ms. Pinyada Reiniger, Honorary Treasurer from ALC Thailand. The ALC’s new office bearers were also approved, whereby the Ambassador of the Philippines remains the ALC President for 2026 - 2027.

 

The 44th AGM discussed proposed ALC activities for 2026 - 2027, with an inclusion of ALC Thailand’s initiative to invite all ALC members to join Malaysia’s Premier Songkran Festival on 9 - 19 April 2026 at the Forecourt, 1 Utama Shopping Centre (Old Wing), Petaling Jaya, the launching ceremony of which will take place on Friday, 10 April 2026, to jointly celebrate Thai New Year, enjoy Thai music, cultural performances and Thai products, as well as Thai food.
