Following the Opening Ceremony of the TSAM Assembly 2026, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, met and exchanged views with representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), lecturers from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Malaya (UM), and Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), as well as with Thai students in Malaysia. The Ambassador also attended and presented an award to the winner at the inaugural futsal match between the Royal Thai Embassy and the team of TSAM United and Malaysian students from IIUM.

 

TSAM Assembly 2026 was held during 9 - 11 January 2026 with the support of the Royal Thai Embassy to strengthen networks and unity among Thai students in Malaysia, and to enhance their capacity as Thai representatives and cultural diplomats in Malaysia. This year’s activities included a session by Dr. Rushdy Thaokloy, former TSAM member and Lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Law of USIM, entitled “Unlock Your Potential as an International Student”, offering guidance on how Thai students can live their lives to their fullest potential; a reflective session titled “River of Experience” led by Mr. Bassam Toh-arlim, a Master’s graduate in Economics from IIUM; Thai traditional and international sports competitions; and briefings and guidance on the functions of the Royal Thai Embassy and Thailand's overseas election. The 3-day program was conducted in an atmosphere of enthusiasm, providing participants with valuable experiences.

 

On this occasion, on 11 January 2026, TSAM also held its 1/2026 General Meeting to discuss the work plan of the 14th TSAM Executive Committee for 2026 at the conference room, IWK Eco Park.
