The Ambassador and the delegation exchanged views on the overall landscape of Thai labour in Malaysia, particularly in the services sector, including traditional Thai massage and spa businesses, while discussing the current situation and prospects of Malaysia’s wellness economy, as well as opportunities and practical recommendations for the deployment of Thai workers to Malaysia, particularly in the context of promoting economic and social development in Thailand’s Southern Border Provinces. On this occasion, the Minister Counsellor (Labour) provided information on Malaysia’s policies and regulations governing the employment of foreign workers, with an emphasis on ensuring comprehensive protection of the rights and welfare of Thai workers, while highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance the skills and capacities of Thai workers to better align with market demands and Malaysia’s regulatory requirements.
