NON-IMMIGRANT VISA (O-A) FOR LONG STAY

Purpose of visit: To stay in Thailand for a long period of one year.

Qualifications to apply:

  • Must be a Malaysian or a permanent resident in Malaysia
  • Must be 50 years old or above.
  • Not being prohibited from entering Thailand under the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979).
  • Having no criminal record against the security of Thailand and the applicant’s country of origin
  • Not having prohibitive diseases (leprosy, tuberculosis, drug addiction, elephantiasis and third stage of syphilis) as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535 (1992).

Required documents:

  1. The original passport (must be valid within 6 months from the travel date)
  2. Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months
  3. A completed visa application form (download here)
  4. A copy of the passport Biodata page
  5. Proof of permanent resident status in Malaysia e.g. a copy of Malaysian IC or PR card.
  6. Bank statement with a minimum deposit equivalent to 800,000 THB or Income Certificate with a minimum monthly income equivalent to 65,000 THB.
  7. Medical certificate (Download) issued in Malaysia within the past 3 months showing no prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535 (1992).
  8. Certified criminal record in the applicant’s country of origin or current country of residence issued by the competent authority within the last 3 months.
  9. Proof of Health Insurance
    9.1 Original health insurance policy with inpatient benefit (IPD) of not less than 40,000 THB per year and outpatient benefit (OPD) of not less than 400,000 THB per year.
    (A copy of the health insurance policy is acceptable if purchased in Thailand)
    9.2  Insurance Certificate (download here) from Office of the Insurance Commission of Thailand.
    (must be completed by the visa applicant's health insurance provider)
  10. A copy of the marriage/birth certificate (for spouses or children under 20 years old who need a NON-O dependent visa).
***ATTENTION***
For citizens of SPECIFIC COUNTRIES who reside in Malaysia

*Please check whether your passport is from one of the specified countries*

Must provide additional documents as follows:

– Three (3) completed visa application forms with (3) photographs (taken within the past 6 months). (mandatory)

– Employment letter mentioning the applicant’s name, position, purpose and dates of visit to Thailand.
   For self-employed, a business license/registration under the applicant’s name must be submitted. ***Please note that the acceptance or job offer is not sufficient***

**For Nigerian citizens, the original Clearance Certificate issued by Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) or the Letter of Good Conduct issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia must be attached.

*** The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to reject any visa application if the reasons given are not fully supported and the visa fee is non-refundable.

*** Additional documents may be required as deemed necessary by the Royal Thai Embassy.

***All supporting materials that are issued outside of Thailand and Malaysia must be accompanied by certified English translations and notarized by an Embassy or Ministry of Foreign Affairs only***
