On 22 June 2023, Miss Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia called on Professor Dr. Mohd Faiz Abdullah, Chairman Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia at ISIS Malaysia, a think tank on foreign affairs that plays a key role in driving policy direction of Malaysian government through academic research and policy recommendations.

          Professor Dr. Mohd Faiz Abdullah welcomed the meeting with Ambassador Lada. Both sides exchanged information and views on bilateral relations between Thailand and Malaysia, following the official visit of Dato' Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, to Thailand in February 2023, especially the progress of the connectivity project, border economic cooperation, bilateral mechanisms, as well as issues of mutual interest such as cooperation in ASEAN and the Asia - Pacific, Thailand’s political development and general election, Malaysia's foreign policy and upcoming state elections in July 2023, Track 1.5 and Track II cooperation. The two sides will continue to promote cooperation between the International Studies Centre (ISC) under Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand’s Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) and ISIS Malaysia.
