          On 27 June 2023, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia welcomed Lieutenant General Khemachat Pattanu, Director-General of the Defence Science and Technology Department, and delegation at the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, on the occasion of Lt.Gen. Khemachat’s visit to Malaysia on a study visit to Malaysia’s Science and Technology Research Institute for Defence (STRIDE) between 26 – 30 June 2023.

          Both sides exchanged views on the development of Thailand's defense industry in accordance with Thailand’s National Strategy (2018-2037), in which the development of national defense industry is one of the targeted industry under Thailand’s investment promotion. Ambassador is of the view that research and development promotion, along with the cooperation with other countries in knowledge sharing and technology transfer are crucial. Study visits or participation in defence technology exhibitions by industry operators in the world market in appropriate platforms will be beneficial for an increased knowledge on military standards, which is in line with the national interests.

          In this regard, Director-General of Defence Science and Technology Department expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to call on the Ambassador as well as the Embassy’s continued support of the Defense Ministry’s related missions.
