On 2 June 2023, H.E. Lada Phumas, Ambassador, led a delegation of Team Thailand in Kuala Lumpur to visit CPF Malaysia’s food processing plant at PK Agro Industrial Products (M) Sdn Bhd Senawang, Negri Sembilan.

        H.E. Lada expressed appreciation for the CPF Malaysia’s warm welcome and exchanged views on developments of CPF Malaysia and the CP Group’s businesses in Malaysia. She highlighted Thailand and Malaysia Governments’ complimentary strategies in the areas of agriculture and food and the promotion of food security. In this regard, Thailand focuses on the 3S policies including safety, security and sustainability; while, Malaysia emphasizes competitiveness, innovation and people’s well-being. H.E. Lada expressed the Embassy’s readiness to continue its support for CPF Malaysia’s operation and Thai staff in Malaysia.

         The CPF Malaysia’s Executives led by Mr. Montree Srihamontree, President of Agro Business and Mr. Wirat Phothiphan, President of Aqua Business, together with CPF Malaysia’s staff welcomed H.E. Lada and the delegation. The CPF Malaysia briefed on Malaysia being chosen as one of the first countries for the CP Group to expand its operation outside of Thailand and that Malaysia is envisioned to become its Halal food production hub to export to a third country. The CPF Malaysia also conducts various CSR activities, for example, capacity building programmes on agrobusiness in collaboration with Malaysian academic institutes and provision of food supplies to Malaysian government frontliners during the COVID-19. The CPF Malaysia wishes to receive continued support from the central and local governments of Malaysia in support of the country’s food security.

        In this regard, H.E. Lada and the delegation took a corridor walk to visit the food processing processes and tested the CPF Malaysia’s products from its agro-industry and food business, for example, ready-to-cook marinated chicken, ready-to-eat Nasi Lemak, and chicken roll.
