          On 20 May 2023 Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia received a courtesy call by BJC Big C Group under TCC Group led by Mr. Aswin Techajareonvikul, CEO and President, BJC Big C Group together with Ms. Suree Chooratchareon and Mr. Steve Cheah, Advisors attached to the Office of the CEO and President, BJC Big C Group.

          H.E. Lada discussed and exchanged information on developments of the TCC Group’s businesses in Malaysia and commended on a good cooperation between the Embassy and the Group. In this regard, H.E. Lada expressed her readiness to continue the Embassy’s support for Thai businesses in Malaysia. H.E. Lada also informed the BJC Big C Group of the Training and Routing for International Career (TRIC 2023) Project, organised during 20-21 May 2023, by the Embassy and Thai Students Association in Malaysia (TSAM). This activity has been organized for the last 3 consecutive years with an aim to prepare and equip Thai college students in Malaysia with necessary academic knowledge, skills and positive attitudes for future careers and working life.

          Mr. Aswin briefed on the smooth-running operation of the BJC Big C Group’s subsidiaries in Malaysia; namely, (1) O-I BJC Glass Malaysia (2) BJC Foods (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. of which factories of glass containers and Tasto potato chip factories are located in Johor and Selangor. In 2023, the BJC received the world’s highest score in S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2023 for the food and staples retailing industry. In this regard, Mr. Aswin also expressed the Group’s interest in recruiting Thai college students after graduation.
