On 27 November 2024, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia was invited to a briefing and networking session on key programmes planned and initiatives for ASEAN-BAC Malaysia’s Chairmanship year in 2025, by Tan Sri Nazir Razak, ASEAN-BAC Malaysia Chairman, at Menara CIMB, where the foreign ambassadors and representatives from about 20 countries also participated.

 

The session was informative and resulted in a productive discussion. It helped enhance a robust cooperation among all ASEAN-BAC members, among which Thailand has continued to play its active role. The participants were informed of ASEAN-BAC Malaysia’s programmes and priorities in 2025, which are in line with the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) of Malaysia’s working priority economic deliverables thrusts such as enhancing trade and investment between ASEAN Member States (AMS), integrating and connecting economies, forging an inclusive and sustainable future as well as transforming for the digital future. This is to support an intra-ASEAN economic integration, while reiterating the importance of B2B collaboration both among the AMS as well as between the AMS and their Dialogue Partners (DPs).
