On 9 October 2025, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia welcomed a courtesy call by H.E. Mrs. Silke Riecken-Daerr, Ambassador of Germany to Malaysia, on the occasion of her assumption of duty, at the Royal Thai Embassy.

 

Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations between Thailand - Germany in the areas of trade and investment, sustainable development, people-to-people relations, and cooperation within the ASEAN framework, under which Germany serves as an ASEAN Development Partner. The Thai Ambassador also extended an invitation for Germany to participate in the ASEAN Circular Economy Forum (ACEF) 2025, to be held from 16 to 17 October 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). In this regard, the Ambassador reaffirmed Thailand’s proactive and multi-dimensional diplomacy.

 

The two Ambassadors also exchanged information on Germany–Malaysia and Thailand–Malaysia bilateral relations, in which both Thailand and Germany are committed to forge constructive cooperation with the host country. They further discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest, as well as their expectations for the upcoming 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, which Malaysia will host from 26 to 28 October 2025.

 

The meeting was cordial and helped strengthen good relations between the two Ambassadors and Embassies. Both sides are committed to sharing experiences, while working closely during their tenure in Malaysia.
